My beautiful hair is back, y'all! My niece had been begging me for months to let her cut it all off and start fresh. But I wasn’t ready—I just wanted to trim the ends. Every time she’d ask, “What ends?” we’d go back and forth. I knew she was frustrated, but she respected my wishes, even when I wasn’t ready to let go. I would have cried on the spot if she had cut too much.

Eventually, though, I let her do it. She gave me a short cut—shorter than I had ever imagined. People said it looked nice, but I felt like I looked crazy. What made it even harder was realizing that, on this journey, I had to be just as mindful of what went on my hair and body as what went inside me. I discovered that certain herbs, oils, and products could actually make my condition worse.

Once I told her what I’d learned, my niece went all in. She researched tirelessly, figuring out what would help instead of harm. She didn’t just stop there—she created a custom hair elixir designed specifically for people like me with hypothyroidism. Every month, she treated my hair: cleansing, moisturizing, steaming, and applying the elixir.

I massaged it into my scalp three to four times a week to restore moisture and reduce brittleness. She styled my hair carefully, choosing protective looks like “Set It Off” braids or Bantu knots that wouldn’t strain my roots. Gradually, my hair grew back stronger. Once it was healthy enough, she added braided extensions or twists, but always with the same tender care.

As my hair grew, so did my confidence. Strangers complimented me more than ever, asking about my natural hair. It felt amazing. Today, I proudly wear my hair, knowing it reflects not just health but the love and dedication of someone who poured their heart into helping me heal. Thanks to my niece, Sediah, and her incredible dedication to understanding how hypothyroidism affects hair health, I’ve reclaimed a part of me that I thought was gone forever.

Sediah’s elixir has since become a staple for others with hypothyroidism, and I couldn’t be prouder of her. Her passion for hair has given so many of us—myself included—a chance to feel beautiful again.  Her specialized elixir, now named Angelic's Elixir, has been a game-changer—not just for me but for others, too.  To see my hair go from literally falling down the drain to being something I can smile at in the mirror has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.

It hasn’t been easy. Watching my once-beautiful hair disappear was devastating. I kept thinking, I’m too young for this—can I at least get a few more decades? But now, I stand here, grateful for the progress, the knowledge, and the support that brought me back to life, one strand at a time.

And guess what? This butterfly isn’t done flying. In my next post, I’ll be diving into uncharted territory—new discoveries about the thyroid and how much it truly controls the body. Let me just say, this butterfly may be small, but its power is immense, and its assignment is massive. Stay tuned, y’all—you won’t want to miss it!
